Movies & Shorts

Bighead has been involved in filmmaking since its founder was 8 years old. Unfortunately, those original movies are lost to physical-media-times but these movies and shorts are just as unhinged, and we hope you enjoy.

The Loose Cannon Pentalogy

The five main entries in the Loose Cannon universe run the gamut from the musings of an 18-year-old drama nerd to the combined expertise of the performers and filmmakers coming together again after seventeen years of growing up and working in the arts, education, and Parking Infrastructure Research.

Juan Martinez: Loose Cannon

Juan Martinez (who has since been renamed Jon Martinet) and Scot Murray, two legends of law enforcement, reluctantly take rookie cop Freddie Slater under their wing. None too soon, it turns out, as Martinet is kidnapped and stashed in a refrigerator box so a shady organization can make a name for themselves with a horrid act of childicide. Murray and the greenhorn have to get Martinet back in action so they can prevent it.

Freddie Slater: Blazing Vengeance

Just one year later, Freddie Slater has risen to the rank of Inspector. Martinet is decomissioned again... or rather... recommissioned into a comic-book-style supervillain by way of accidental bathtub-toaster-electric-shock. Once again, Murray and Slater will need to find a reasonable midpoint between wonton chaos and investigative acumen to bring Martinet back into the fold and reassemble the holy trinity of world-saving cops.

This entry originally used Michael Jackson songs, the publisher of which has mandated certain parts are entirely muted. Unfortunately, this means three scenes are subtitles-only.

Scot Murray: Blissful Ignorance

After the murder of each of the Loose Cannons' twin brothers, Martinet, Murray, and Slater spring back into action to thwart a time-bending presidential assassination plot. Turns out, you can combine five different recalled appliances into a time machine... Who else but the Loose Cannon Inspection agency could you possibly trust with keeping that tech out of the wrong hands?

Juan Martinez 4

Imagine a world with no crime. Well, that's what our boys created. Unfortunately, when your only purpose in this life is to dole out justice, things can get a little boring. With Freddie in Venezuela, Martinet and Murray get a little idea in their heads... what if they made their own crimes to solve? They don't have to lock up innocents for too long though, as an old nemesis comes back into the picture with a destructive plot that hits a lot closer to home than all that time-travelly business they're used to.

Loose Cannon Zero

In this combined prequel-sequel, the Loose Cannons' long-time nemesis sets out to make sure Murray and Martinet never become police officers at all. If you've been tuned in, you'll know this particular villain hasn't really been able to consider all the angles... All the same, he's got enough going for him that it'll be tough for these greenhorned numbskulls to keep up. See how your favorite buddies became cops, and how Freddie fits into it all, in this combined conclusion-to-the-series-and-origin-story.

I don't have that kind of time...

If you want to jump on the Loose Cannon Bandwagon but you don't have 3 hours to spare to get to the (honestly better-crafted) 4th and 5th movies, you can watch this Series Recap. It played ahead of the premiere of Loose Cannon Zero since the friends we made during the 17-year journey may not have seen them all, and even long-time fans may have forgotten a detail or two.
